City of Huber Heights, Ohio - Government issued the following announcement on February 14.
WARD REDISTRICTING
The Huber Heights City Charter provides for elections by wards and divides the City into six wards. Ohio Revised Code Section 731.06 requires the City Council to subdivide the City into wards equal in number by population following the decennial census year. Based on the 2020 U.S. Census results, the City Council has redrawn the boundaries of the City’s wards to be roughly equal in number by population. Ordinance No. 2021-O-2513 was adopted by the City Council on December 13, 2021 which amended Section 105.01 of the Codified Ordinances of Huber Heights to provide for the new ward boundaries and to adopt the new City ward map effective December 13, 2021.
The 2020 Census results showed that Huber Heights had the most population growth of the cities in Montgomery County. Our population increased by 14%!
