The City of Clayton Police Department is currently seeking applicants for lateral patrol officer positions. The successful candidate will be responsible for emergency operations including crash investigations, traffic control, crime suppression, investigation and prevention, civil disputes, and other related law enforcement activities. All officers must become proficient with the use of mobile data terminals, records management software, law enforcement data sites, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- Active State of Ohio Police Officer Certification
- Up to 3 years full-time experience as police officer
- 21 years of age
- Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- No felony convictions
Associate Degree or higher in Criminal Justice or Related Field
Salary and Benefits:
- Lateral hires are eligible to start at step 2 or 3 on the wage scale depending on years of service
Step 2: $27.20
Step 3: $28.88 - Work week is 41.25 hours

All new hires are subject to a one-year probationary period.
