The City of Clayton Police Department is currently seeking applicants for the position of Patrol Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for emergency operations including crash investigations, traffic control, crime suppression, investigation and prevention, civil disputes, and other related law enforcement activities. All officers must become proficient with the use of mobile data terminals, records management software, law enforcement data sites, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- State of Ohio Police Officer Certification (or currently enrolled in certified police academy)
- 21 years of age
- Valid State of Ohio Drivers License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- No felony convictions
Associate Degree or higher in Criminal Justice or Related Field
Salary and Benefits:
- Beginning salary is $25.67 per hour
- Work week is 41.25 hours

After the interview, a conditional offer of employment may be made to the top-ranking candidate pending the successful completion of a polygraph, psychological exam, comprehensive physical and drug screen.
All new hires are subject to a one-year probationary period.
