SCHOOL ZONE REMINDER - 20 MPH when children are present!
We are aware that the warning lights at the National Road (US 40) school zone in front of the Kleptz Early Learning Center are not operating as they typically do. The school district is currenting working with a contractor to remedy this issue.
Ohio law establishes the speed limit at 20 mph in all posted school zones "during school recess and while children are going to or leaving school during opening or closing hours." The law does NOT require warning flashing lights or posted notice of the hours in which the school zone speed limit is in effect.
Please be aware in every school zone - REDUCE your speed, ELIMINATE distractions & PAY attention to other vehicles and children walking or biking to/from school.
